LOCAL NGO COMFORTS TURKISH EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS’ FAMILIES

The Zimbabwe National Organization of Associations and Residents Trust (ZINOART) has sent a condolences message to the people of Turkiye after two large earthquakes hit the South Eastern part of the Middle Eastern Country.

In a statement that was released by the organization’s National Chairperson Shepard Chikomba, ZINOART said the bereaved families should have strength to bare the loss.

We publish the full statement below:

“On behalf of the Zimbabwe National Organization of Associations and Residents (ZNOART) Trust Board of Trustees, the National Executive
Council, Provincial Executive Councils, District and Area Co-ordinators,
the entire ZNOART membership and indeed on my behalf, I wish to convey my deepest sorrow and grief over the devastating earthquake
that struck in Kahramanmaraş Province on the 6th of February 2023. The
earthquake subsequently, claimed many lives and left much more injured
and damaged property.
I author this message on behalf of the ZNOART leadership and
membership to express our sympathy and sincerest condolences to the President of the Republic of Turkiye, His Excellency Recep Tayyip
Erdoğan, the Turkish Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Berna
Kasnakli Versteden, the government, and the people of Turkiye particularly the families that have lost their loved ones and those searching for their
loved ones.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Turkish people during this difficult
time of mourning. May Almighty Allah give the bereaved families
strength to bear the loss and may he bless the departed souls in eternal
peace.”

“ZNOART also wishes injured survivors a speedy and full recovery.
ZNOART stands steadily alongside the government and the people of
Turkiye as they work to overcome these difficult times.
May the government and people of Turkiye rest assured and find comfort in ZNOART’s support, indivisibility, and best wishes.”
