Bulawayo based multi instrumentalist and musician Blessing Anele Msindo has formed his own genre which he calls AcaJazz.
He is a creative genius whose genre is a fusion of contemporary Acapella and Jazz music. His musical style can be defined as polyhedric and his lyrics develop predominantly over themes of romance, desire and emotional conflict
“What inspired me to come up with my own genre was my appreciation of different cultures and genres. I merged the cultures making AcaJazz more African on vocals and Western on Instrumentation”, said Msindo.
Msindo started his musical journey in 2018. In the same year he got enrolled at the Zimbabwe Academy Of Music and attained a Merit In ABRSM music exam in 2021 then he released his first commercial production in November the same year.
“After i released my first track, I started getting gigs from time to time. Whenever I sang I felt so much appreciation from my audience and that inspired and motivated me to continue. The people who enjoyed my music gave me confidence”, added Msindo.
Msindo revealed to ZIM GBC NEWS that he has released three singles although he has six songs under his name. He is yet to officially release the remaining songs on all streaming platforms.
“I’ve never worked with dates before. I only release my work after I am satisfied that the production is worth publishing. I spend a lot of time on these songs so I’m not able to tell how much time i can take to finish a project. I take my time because currently I’m not signed under any brand and I enjoy working alone “, concluded Msindo
